Awe-Struck

For my clay head, I used all under glazes so I could get a variety of colors and keep them dark and really bright. I did a half and half effect, where one side of her is bare, with just a white under glaze, and the other half looks real, with color. For her eyes I used under glazes and then out clear glaze over them so they have a an alive look to them. I believe the best part of my sculpture would have to be the clothing. I like the accidents that happened, (blue under glazes where they weren't necessarily supposed to be) and I love the fading effect. I think it makes the piece look really cool. It adds to the title as well, because she's awe-struck at fading away.

Multimedia Shell

This is my multimedia shell. The design was taken from a spiral shell. I used the shape and inner-structures for my ideas. My sculpture is made of metal wire, rope, twine, and a wooden stick. I enjoyed making this sculpture and had few problems with the wire. Hope you guys like it.

Starry Night

I designed this tile sculpture after a segment of Starry Night, a Vincent van Gogh painting. I used many different textures, patterns, depths, and colors to make this tile sculpture pop out. I was inspired by this painting because of its creative usage of colors and patterns. 

Glazed Dragon

This is my dragon after it has been glazed. I believe the red really helps the dragon be the focal point in my sculpture and also makes it look awesome. I am happy with the outcome of my sculpture.

the glazes I used on my project helped define the parts of the piece and made some of the parts stand out more then others. Quinn

Feather

My sculpture was inspired by feathers. In the sculpture, there are feathers, a bird and movement made to look like wind. The surface of some of this sculpture actually has the texture of a feather from pressing one into the clay in different areas on the piece. This sculpture is a low relief sculpture made out of clay. It was then glazed with watercolor underneath in order to make the green glaze have a bit of blue in it. I like the way the glaze turned out even though it wasn't quite at blue as i would have liked it and there were some bubbles near the wing of the bird and on one of the feathers.
