Hidden Book

My theme for this was quiet and sort of hiding. The story is somebody reading The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe in the middle of a calculus class. They would have to be quiet about that to get away with it. The best part, in my opinion, would be the way "NEVERMORE" is cut out and shaded underneath.

The Dauntless Warrior

Fearless, my sculpture is a presentation of a fearless warrior, fearless in the sense he has fears, but no matter what continuously faces them head on. Not letting anything slow him down, holding fire within the palm of his hand showing courage in a time which fear is easily escapable to the surface. The hand all around was a fun, but challenging task that I enjoyed to create that reflects light and shadow in such a creative way. The burning embers within the fire is a neat touch I thought would spark a little eye catcher towards the fire its self.

The Beauty of Love

My theme for my sculpture was Beauty but also Love. It doesn't matter what the person or subject looks like, everyone and everything is Beautiful and you can choose to love them or hate them. I'm big into Fantasy Art, and i used Angelic and Devilish features to portray different kinds of Beauty on my sculpture. I feel the best part of my sculpture is the small dangling pieces in each section. They stand out and help better show what the section of the mary-go-round shaped sculpture is trying to say.

For my plaster sculpture I used curving lines to show motion and to create light and shadow. The sculpture is shaped almost like a flame.

Austin
This sculpture piece is a mixture of my own face and some non existing person. I tried to achieve light and shadow by combining sharp and gradual corners and shapes. One of my favorite parts is the hair and it was also one of the simplest parts to make. The one thing I would do if I had more time to work on this guy would be the clothing and his lack of arms.

This sculpture was made mainly on the go. I had no complete idea of how the finished piece was really going to be. However, seeing different examples from books and other models, I was able to manipulate the clay into a sculpture I considered to be unique. The hair is very active, giving an excitable personality to this piece and an interesting outlook overall.

This is a really cool representation of a human torso and head. The details on the clothing as well as the details on the face and hair really make the piece stand out. The most interesting and fun aspect that i added was the hair. It was really interesting to make and it makes the whole piece look like Julius Caesar. Made by: Katarina Tschirpke

I think the best part of my sculpture is the face. The features were formed in proportion and it has an expression. The main technique I used was coils. Hannah Duhaime
What I think is the best part of my sculpture is the face. I had a good understanding of what their size and shape should be.
