Biology

For the paper project my theme was biology, because in nature there are a lot of shapes and patterns that I could use in my project. For my project, I made straight folds across the paper to make a cool shape then I used graphite on one side of the paper so when its folded it's dark on the inside and light on the out side and to keep the two ends together I tied them with paper.

World of Destruction

The theme I chose was Chaos and some what destructive. My main idea was an abandoned building that was destroyed during a chaotic event. I came across the destructive looking windows by just scratching at a paper out of boredom then realized it actually looked pretty cool, so I began to brain storm on ways I could put that into a sculpture and I thought broken or worn out windows when I saw it. I also added long strips of paper hanging from the ceiling to add more of a worn effect like pieces of the building hanging down. I made the windows very abstract so they where not all the same, and all straight in a line to add some confusion to the sculpture which also goes along with Chaos.

Mismatched Pistons

These mismatched pistons are all different sizes on the same crankshaft. It represents strength, because pistons compress and generate horse power. In art pistons don't have to have bearings or rings, or be the same size as the other pistons on the same shaft. The powdered graphite represents the oil bath these parts would usually be found submerged in.

Hidden Book

My theme for this was quiet and sort of hiding. The story is somebody reading The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe in the middle of a calculus class. They would have to be quiet about that to get away with it. The best part, in my opinion, would be the way "NEVERMORE" is cut out and shaded underneath.

The Dauntless Warrior

Fearless, my sculpture is a presentation of a fearless warrior, fearless in the sense he has fears, but no matter what continuously faces them head on. Not letting anything slow him down, holding fire within the palm of his hand showing courage in a time which fear is easily escapable to the surface. The hand all around was a fun, but challenging task that I enjoyed to create that reflects light and shadow in such a creative way. The burning embers within the fire is a neat touch I thought would spark a little eye catcher towards the fire its self.

The Beauty of Love

My theme for my sculpture was Beauty but also Love. It doesn't matter what the person or subject looks like, everyone and everything is Beautiful and you can choose to love them or hate them. I'm big into Fantasy Art, and i used Angelic and Devilish features to portray different kinds of Beauty on my sculpture. I feel the best part of my sculpture is the small dangling pieces in each section. They stand out and help better show what the section of the mary-go-round shaped sculpture is trying to say.
